Innovation: the Xacobeo robot
In-house development line: robotic prototypes to operate in high-risk areas with high contaminant exposure. First generation scheduled for 2028.
2026–2028 roadmap
From remote diagnosis to robotic operation in red zones
Four development phases taking Xacobeo's IoT platform from remote data to physical action in the field — with one constant goal: fewer people entering hazardous areas.

Remote diagnosis & monitoring
Instrument reading, telemetry and assisted inspection rounds: the robot takes diagnosis to the exact point without exposing a person.

Assisted maintenance
Precision robotic adjustment of valves and actuators: repetitive tasks delegated, human-supervised decisions.

IoT sensor deployment
Deployment and maintenance of LoRaWAN network nodes at hard-to-reach or continuously contaminated points.

Red-zone prototypes
First generation of prototypes for high-risk areas: explosive atmospheres, H₂S and prolonged contaminant exposure.
Safety first
Why a robot in red zones
High-risk areas in the hydrocarbon industry combine potentially explosive atmospheres (Zone 1/21), H₂S and other contaminants, and repetitive inspection work that exposes people every day. Our approach: entering red zones becomes the exception, not the routine.
- Inspection and instrument reading without direct human exposure
- Assisted adjustment and maintenance in classified atmospheres (Ex-certified design)
- IoT node installation and maintenance with repeatable precision
- LoRaWAN coverage extension at hard-to-reach sites
- Local talent: developed with Venezuelan engineers (linked to PEX)
